Hello! I'm Steve

I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse with 30 years experience and trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, completing my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at The University of Salford. I am particularly experienced and skilled in working with people suffering from anxiety, depression and trauma related problems. Additionally I have specific experience of helping adults with ADHD who need help to manage symptoms such as problems with organisation, time management, organisation, planning and anger management.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people’s difficulties, and so change the way they feel. It is used to help treat a wide range of issues such as anxiety and depression.

" I highly recommend the service Ste provides."

I was at a very low point suffering from postnatal depression, anxiety and undiagnosed ADHD which was recognised by Ste who encouraged me to go for a diagnosis.

He is friendly, caring and instantly makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Ste takes the time to get to know you and provides a detailed care plan all while ensuring your thoughts, opinions and preferences are taken on board too.

Now my life is back on track and I can enjoy being the best mum I can to my little boy.

Thank you Ste.

"Steve was so understanding and patient with me, he put me at ease straight away"

.I went to see Steve for help with my fear of spiders, I couldn't cope and I felt like they were everywhere and the fear of seeing one was taking over my life on a daily basis. Steve was so understanding and patient with me, he put me at ease straight away.

Steve provided me with so much help and support in each session and throughout the days in between sessions, I don't normally do recommendations but I honestly couldn't recommend Steve highly enough, he has completely helped me conquer my fear so much so that today I held a tarantula and Steve was right there with me supporting me all the way.

Steve has gone above and beyond for me and I can't thank him enough for all he has done for me, he really is amazing at what he does and he is such a lovely man.

"Steve took the time to get to know me"

Very professional but also very friendly so I always felt at ease coming to these sessions.

Steve took the time to get to know me and understands my needs enough to create an appropriate care plan. He has given me all the tools I need to deal with my anxiety on a daily basis.

"Steve has been amazing and I feel positive about the future."

I really got a lot out of these sessions. I didn't feel totally isolated and stupid - I felt listened to.

My therapist really understood me and made me feel really comfortable. I felt able to say anything without being judged.

"I'd recommend the service to anyone with minor or major difficulties."

I was listened to and all my thoughts and views were taken on board and explored. The therapy was all designed to work for me personally, the goals we set up felt like they were to suit me perfectly and help me which felt kind.

Wish it was more widely known about, it was great from the start till the end. I'd recommend the service to anyone with minor or major difficulties.

"Thank you so much for the last few months"

You have really helped me to find myself again. I really appreciate what you have done for me.

I have noticed such a good difference in myself and so have many others!
